Job Title: WMSI Program Coordinator

Structure: Full-Time, 40 hour/week position on a 6 month contract with the goal of creating an indefinite full time position by the end of the contract

Job Description:   White Mountain Science (WMSI pronounced ‘whimsy’), develops and delivers highly engaging and fun STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs with the goal of teaching creative problem solving and the Science/Engineering process to students and teachers. The WMSI Program Coordinator will have a mixture of jobs, including but not limited to: running 1-3 hour STEM programs for K-6th grade; supervising and training interns; supporting teacher professional development programs; co-writing grants; and developing and expanding programs to new regions. This position also involves office hours spent organizing teaching materials, designing new organizational documents, and creating documentation for future instructors. White Mountain Science is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Littleton, NH.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be motivated and self-directed

  • Completion of post secondary degree a plus

  • Prior science, technology, engineering, or math training - a plus

  • Interest and experience instructing kids - essential

  • Strong communication/organization skills

  • Looking for a team player who is willing to learn from mistakes

  • Ability to adapt quickly and be flexible

  • Ability to support and empower students in the creative process

  • Ability to set a positive environment within a room

  • Motivated to improve as an instructor and facilitate new material

  • Must be comfortable driving and backing up large vehicles

Physical Exertion Environmental Conditions:  Required to sit for extended periods of time, use fine motor skills to operate equipment, and lift/move up to 30 pounds.

 

Compensation commensurate on experience.
