 White Mountain Science (WMSI pronounced ‘whimsy’), develops and delivers highly engaging and fun STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs to teach Creative Problem Solving to students, teachers, and after school youth.  We are seeking a motivated, self-directed, leader/instructor for part-time to full-time work in our northern New Hampshire pilot after school program, the WMSI Mobile STEM Lab.  White Mountain Science is a 501c3 non-profit organization based in Bethlehem, NH.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive a WMSI van on a weekly schedule to schools in Coos county
  • Be the lead facilitator of pre-designed after school STEM workshops for kids in grades 3-6
  • Work with an on-site coordinator and high school youth leaders at each school site to coordinate prep and follow-up activities to ensure success of the program.
  • Keep equipment and resources in top working order
  • Work with WMSI staff to maintain and grow this very dynamic initiative.


    a)  interest and experience instructing kids - essential

    b)  quick to learn new technology skills - essential

    c)  prior science, technology, engineering, or math training - a plus

    d)  strong communication/organization skills - essential

    e)  problem solving — adept at creative problem solving - essential

    f)  able to work on a team and supervise volunteers - essential

    g)  completion of post secondary degree a plus

    h)  Clean driving record and a reliable means of transportation - essential

Physical Exertion Environmental Conditions:  Required to sit for extended periods of time, stand frequently, use fine motor skills to operate equipment, and lift and/or move 25 pounds or less.  Compensation: $15-$20/hour depending on experience.
